NEWS BRIEF: Warner Bros Discovery-owned streamer HBO Max in Europe has acquired a French sci-fi comedy produced by Mediawan-backed MakingProd.

Visitors (8×26’), which was originally produced for Warner TV, follows a rookie policeman in a small French town who encounters two strange lights colliding in the sky. The series was created and directed by its star, Simon Astier, creator of France 4/Comédie+ series Hero Corp, which ran for five seasons between 2008 and 2017, and who recently directed the Netflix series Mortel.
