Hasbro lines up animated series My Little Pony: Forever Friendship on YouTube

My Little Pony: Forever Friendship will join YouTube early next year

US toy and entertainment company Hasbro is set to launch a new animated series based on classic property My Little Pony on YouTube.

My Little Pony: Forever Friendship will debut in early 2027, with nine-minute episodes dropping on the platform twice a week. The episodes, which explore the themes of individuality, belonging and emotional growth, will also be clipped for social media.

The new series follows the adventures of four of the ponies from previous series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which ran for nine seasons from 2010 until 2019 on Discovery Family in the US.

Led by showrunner and head writer Gretchen Mallorie and series director Tayhan Mustafa, My Little Pony: Forever Friendship has a new visual look developed in collaboration with Lil Critter Workshop and featuring artistic contributions from illustrator Nicholas Kole.

The show will be accompanied by music releases, social media content and a podcast series.

Kim Boyd, president of global licensing and entertainment at Hasbro, said: “With My Little Pony: Forever Friendship, we’re continuing to grow the brand through fresh storytelling, a visionary creative team and new entertainment experiences designed to inspire today’s audiences while staying true to the heart of what fans have always loved about My Little Pony.”
