Guru’s True finds Chinese partner

True & the Rainbow Kingdom

Canadian animation producer Guru Studio has signed a Chinese partner for its preschool property True & the Rainbow Kingdom.

Guru has appointed Hengxin Shambala Kids (Guangzhou) Cultural Industry Development to represent the property in China.

The firm will look to secure opportunities for the brand in China across television, toys, publishing, non-toy merchandise, digital games and apps, theme parks, stage plays, educational centres and carnivals.

True & the Rainbow Kingdom follows a compassionate eight-year-old hero and her feline best friend whose comedic adventures empower children to be mindful and courageous and to respect all living things.

The show was recently renewed by Netflix for a fourth season and also airs in Canada on CBC.

It is produced by Guru Studio in collaboration with music producer and pop star Pharrell Williams’ I Am Other, artist collective FriendsWithYou and Home Plate Entertainment.
