Gary Lineker co-hosts Premier League Greats: The Moments That Made Them

Gary Lineker’s podcast studio Goalhanger has announced new weekly visual podcast series Premier League Greats: The Moments That Made Them, which it claims is the first vodcast to feature authorised footage from England’s top-flight football division.

Launching today, with new episodes released every Wednesday until the end of the current season, each instalment focuses on one Premier League legend and five defining matches from that player’s career.

Hosts Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards share personal stories from their own time spent with the players featured.

Today’s launch show focuses on the best moments of former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, with future episodes looking at the careers of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The new vodcast series, which sits alongside Goalhanger’s regular The Rest is Football feed on YouTube and Spotify Video, follows the company securing worldwide rights to Premier League action from every season since its launch in 1992 through to May 2025.

Last summer, football clips were added to The Rest Is Football for the first time after licensing all goals and key highlights from the FIFA Club World Cup competition. This season, coverage has expanded further with match action from Spain’s La Liga, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.

In December, Goalhanger announced it would bring a daily version of The Rest Is Football to Netflix during next summer’s FIFA World Cup showcase.
