Fox International Channels (FIC) and Disney Media Distribution linked up with FX to become the exclusive pay-TV home of the show in Australia.

The show, produced by The Mark Gordon Company, CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios, follows an elite squad of FBI profilers who analyse the minds of serial criminals.

All seasons of the show, including its spin-off, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour, will air on the channel from June this year.

FX launched earlier this year on pay-TV platform Foxtel, boasting a slate of dramas including The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels.

Karin Simoncini, MD of FIC Australia, said: “FX is already the home of high-profile, high-quality shows, amongst which Criminal Minds is a perfect fit. It will be one of the top tier series on the channel, with an important presence in the schedule and our promotions.”

Criminal Minds has been renewed for an eighth season in the US, where it airs on broadcast network CBS, while Suspect Behaviour, which aired on the same channel last year, was cancelled after 13 episodes.

Meanwhile, Criminal Minds executive producer Ed Bernero, who co-created Suspect Behaviour, has partnered with Germany’s Tandem Communications for a new long-running series called Crossing Lines, about a team of police officers who solve crimes across Europe.
