French sales house Incognita Distribution, formerly CLPB Rights, has agreed to represent Federation International’s documentary catalogue.

The deal includes docs produced by Lucky You, a subsidiary of Bonne Pioche Télévision, which is majority-owned by Paris-based media group Federation Studios, as well as titles from 70 third-party producers around the globe.

It also gives Incognita a first look at all future documentary productions by Bonne Pioche and Federation Studios France.

Both parties said the new partnership was part of their respective strategic decisions to re-align along their core strengths. In Incognita’s case, this means focusing on docs and live performance, while Federation International aims to concentrate solely on fiction, including series, films and kids’ programming.

Federation International’s 900-hour doc catalogue includes Putin’s Secret Weapons, Napoleon The Third: The Bold & Beautiful and Hiroshima: Race to the Apocalypse, from the Bonne Pioche stable, as well as The Force of Destiny: A Season at the Heart of La Scala, MH370: Missing and Kabul Chaos from Federation Studio France.

“This partnership is a strategic move for Incognita Distribution, enabling the company to accelerate its growth and strengthen its position as a leading player both in France and internationally,” said Chloé Persyn-Preljocaj, chief operating officer at Incognita.

Guillaume Pommier, co-director of Federation International, added: “We have chosen to refocus on our core area of expertise: the distribution of fiction content in the broadest sense, including series, films and kids’ programming. For documentary distribution, Incognita stood out to us as the ideal partner.”
