Fox Kids scoops up Nelvana's Medabots

Fox Kids Network in the US will bolster its autumn 2001 line-up with Nelvana's Medabots, a 26×30' animated adventure featuring over 370 different robots.

Produced by Nelvana, in association with NAS/Kodansha in Japan, the animé series takes place in the technologically advanced year 2122 AD

It's a futuristic world where kids own high Medabots, powerful pet-robots with artificial intelligence and controlled exclusively by their owners. The kids compete with each other in Robattles that pit Medabot against Medabot in a designated ring.

{Every young child dreams of having a robot, almost as often as they fantasise about travelling into the future,{ said Maureen Smith, president of Fox Kids Network and Fox Family Channel.

The series follows the adventures of Ikki, a poor boy who dreams of owning a Medabot and competing in Robattles.
