Young is now creative and licensing director at L, which partners with major grocery retailers around the world on their loyalty schemes to retain and grow their customer base.

During his time in the TV industry, London-based Young held a variety of roles, including head of IP and partnerships at WildBrain, where he led on coproduction projects such as Tata & Kuma with Korean studio 5Bricks.

He was also previously brand and commercial director at Banijay for two years, before which he spent seven years at NBCUniversal, most recently as director of brand management and commercial, international studios.

While at NBCU, he managed the commercial and brand activities for Downton Abbey, including a consumer products portfolio, digital extensions and live events.

He had a short stint as chief operating officer at Warner Bros Discovery-backed kids’ media company Bright Little Labs in the UK in 2022, before going freelance and working with clients such as BBC Studios, Lime Pictures, Lion TV, Wise Owl Films and Lunar X.

Young said on LinkedIn: “Stepping into a new industry has been energising, humbling, and exactly the challenge I was hoping for. The best bit? As creative and licensing director, I still get to work with some of the world’s biggest and most iconic brands, alongside brilliant partners including Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, Hasbro and Minecraft to name a few.”
