Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger producer Magna Studios has hired former A24 and Concordia Studio executive Nicole Stott to expand its non-fiction slate.

Nicole Stott

Stott has joined London-based Magna Studios as executive producer within its non-fiction division.

In her new role, Stott will collaborate with senior VP of non-fiction Oliver Calleja and creative director Louis Mole and the wider team across Magna’s documentary features and limited series.

Stott has previously held senior creative leadership roles across the US and UK film and television industries, with numerous Oscar-winning titles among the projects she has worked on.

Most recently, she served as head of documentary at A24, where she led and restructured the studio’s non-fiction division across LA and New York. Her tenure at A24 included overseeing docuseries for HBO, such as The Yogurt Shop Murders and Monsters of God, and feature documentaries such as Nuisance Bear and Look Into My Eyes.

Prior to A24, Stott was a founding member and co-head of non-fiction at Concordia Studio, guiding a slate that included Summer of Soul, Still: A Michael J Fox Movie and Time.

Before relocating to LA, she spent over a decade as head of documentary at London’s Passion Pictures, where she worked across the company’s entire documentary slate. Its output during her tenure included Searching for Sugar Man, The Imposter and Project Nim, directed by Magna’s James Marsh.

Stott joins Magna Studios as its non-fiction division continues to grow, having recently made Oasis reunion documentary Don’t Look Back in Anger, which is now streaming on Disney+.

Magna Studios is currently working on an upcoming Lily Allen feature doc for Amazon’s Prime Video, an Aron Ralston feature directed by James Marsh for National Geographic and The Pembrokeshire Murders for Sky.

Founded in 2024 by Marisa Clifford and Davud Karbassioun, Magna Studios has offices in London, New York and LA. It is backed by former Pulse Film chief Thomas Benski’s venture Lumina.

Stott said: “Coming back to London after working for two very different studios in LA, I wanted to be somewhere with global ambition and the agility to work in new ways.

“Non-fiction is at a genuinely pivotal moment, and Magna stands out as one of the few truly future-focused companies. It has an entrepreneurial spirit to take creative risks, alongside the operational infrastructure to deliver at scale.”
