Paris-based animation producer and distributor Cyber Group Studios (CGS) has promoted Raphaelle Mathieu to chief operating officer.

She succeeds Dominique Bourse, who was named chairman and CEO of the company in February.

Mathieu has held various positions within CGS since 2016, including director of sales, acquisitions and new media, and, most recently, executive VP.

Previously, she also served as general delegate of the French distributors’ union Sedpa.

Reporting to Bourse, Mathieu’s brief is to grow CGS’s development, production and distribution platforms.

“Raphaelle will now second me in managing the group,” said Bourse. “Her knowledge of our industry combined with her entrepreneurial skills and expertise with institutional relations will be key to helping us continue to fulfil our ambitious roadmap.”

Mathieu said: “Together, we will work to deliver premium, varied and innovative content for children, families and young adults around the world.”

CGS has been active in several M&A deals recently, including its majority acquisitions of Bristol-based animation studio A Productions and Italy’s Graphilm Entertainment.
