Endemol Shine reveals Iberian plans

Endemol Shine Group has brought its companies in Spain and Portugal under one roof and appointed one of its existing Spanish execs to head up the arm.

Endemol Shine Iberia will incorporate firms including Shine Iberia, Zeppelin, Gestmusic, Diagonal TV and Endemol Portugal, under the management of Pilar Blasco. Blasco became MD at Endemol Spain in 2011, having previously led the company’s Madrid-based arm, Zeppelin TV.

Macarena Rey, Shine Iberia’s CEO, and Endemol Portugal MD Lurdes Guerreiro will continue in their roles, while management at the other production teams will remain unchanged.

The newly created hub’s portfolio includes a raft of high-profile hit shows including local versions of Big Brother, MasterChef, Secret Story Portugal, The Voice Portugal and The Money Drop. Iberian dramas such as Amar, Isabel and No Identity, as well as locally created hit Your Face Sounds Familiar, are also from the recently formed production giant.

Endemol Spain’s Javier Garcia becomes chief finance and operations officer, while Jordi Bosch will be chairman of the regional hub.

The Iberian development comes the day after the group revealed its first production label, to be headed up by former BBC exec producer Phillippa Giles.

Endemol Shine Group was formed late last year after a merger between Endemol, Shine and Core Media, with the firm’s wider structure revealed in December.
