Diane Morgan’s Philomena Cunk visits the cinema in BBC mockumentary

UK public broadcaster the BBC has commissioned a new mockumentary series featuring Diane Morgan’s comedy character Philomena Cunk.

Commissioned for linear channel BBC Two and streamer iPlayer, Cunk on Cinema (3×30’) is produced by Pacesetter Production and created by Morgan (Cunk on Britain) and Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror).

Morgan once again stars as idiosyncratic documentary maker Philomena Cunk, who examines the history of cinema, from the invention of the camera all the way up to what the future of AI holds.

The series will stream on Netflix outside of the UK and Ireland.

Jon Petrie, director of comedy at the BBC, said: “This series follows in the hugely successful footsteps of other Cunk projects, so we can’t wait to see what she unearths this time around.”
