Decode scoops up Collideascope's new animation

Canada's Decode Entertainment has acquired world distribution rights to Ollie, a digitally animated kids series produced by Halifax toon house Collideascope Digital Productions.

Targeted at kids 7-11, each of Ollie's 13×21-minute episodes has three fast-paced 7-minute story segments, done completely in digital animation. Using classical 2D animators, the series was completed in Collideascope's paperless digital format.

Ollie is a rambunctious, sweet, high-energy six-year-old with a hyper-kinetic imagination and a make-believe world. He's working on dealing with bullies, older sisters and simply how to get through the day by taking the viewer on a dizzy collection of zany adventures.

{Ollie is pure fun, distilled and packed into the super-cool, super-fast, super-big adventures of that kid in all of us, who would rather save the world than sit through geography class,{ enthuses Steven Comeau of Collideascope.

Comeau and Michael-Andreas Kuttner from Collideascope are serving as executive producer and writer on the series, with Decode’s Beth Stevenson as executive producer. Production is currently underway at Collideascope's headquarters in Halifax.

In addition to the broadcast series, Ollie has a convergent companion web site, also produced by Collideascope. The site is an on-line world where kids can engage in open-ended adventure play.

Teletoon in Canada has picked up the series for an autumn 2002 premiere.
