D360 flies Skyship to MipJunior

Canada’s Distribution360 (D360) has added to its slate of preschool content following a 15-series deal with digital producer Skyship Entertainment.

Toronto-based D360 will bring the numerous animated series, produced by Skyship for its portfolio of YouTube channels, to MipJunior in Cannes next month, having taken global broadcast and VoD rights excluding mainland China and Japan.

The deal covers shortform content such as Super Simple Songs (150×1′-4′), Mr Monkey: Monkey Mechanic (12×6′), Milo’s Monster School Vlog (26×4′-7′) and Super Simple Draw (26×4′-7′).

Skyship’s YouTube channels have attracted 11 million subscribers and racked up more than 10 billion views, according to D360.

“The acquisition of the Skyship Entertainment content adds weight to our animation catalogue and their YouTube experience gives us some tremendous audience insights,” said Diane Rankin, senior VP of international at D360.

D360 – launched in 2010 as a joint venture between Canadian producers Marblemedia and Seven24 Films – has also added the series Super Mighty Makers (26×11’/13×22′) and Holy Baloney (10×2’30”) from Marblemedia to its slate ahead of MipJunior.
