Content Americas sells out as 1,500 execs arrive in town for new Miami event

Content Americas, the new Miami-based event designed to unite the Latin American, domestic and international content businesses, has sold out with close to 1,500 executives arriving in town for the inaugural event.

All screenings suites and market floor space has been taken up by distribution companies and a packed house is expected for the full three-day conference programme, focused on discussing new opportunities between the Lat Am business and the international market.

The three-day event starts tomorrow at the Downtown Miami Hilton. Overflow hotels have been assigned to cope with high demand from around 500 buyers and an additional 1,000 delegates.

The event, launched in October by C21Media and based on its market-leading ‘Content’ format, has been welcomed by the Lat Am market in particular, which is being foregrounded in Miami.

It is supported by C21’s Spanish-language brand Cveintiuno.

C21 editor-in-chief & managing director David Jenkinson said: “For too many years the Lat Am sector was an afterthought at the January TV market, but it is now the focus of Content Americas. We are not an event about the broken US syndication business, we are a market about the burgeoning Lat Am content business, one of the fastest-growing sectors in the content world. This is long overdue.

“Content Americas was conceived and launched in October and we’ve worked hard to bring it to market within just a few months. We’ve only been able to do that thanks to the remarkable work of such a great team and the support of a broad range of clients. With a year until the next event, we expect great things for Content Americas 2024 and will announce the dates shortly.”
