CBeebies revives classic Balamory

Kate Morton, BBC Children’s and Education’s head of commissioning

NEWS BRIEF:  UK broadcaster CBeebies is bringing back its live action series Balamory, which was originally produced between 2005 and 2006, for two new 10×14’ seasons premiering in 2026.

BBC Children’s and Education, led by head of commissioning for 0-6 Kate Morton, says it is looking for ideas from producers that feature some of the original characters from the show alongside a host of new faces for pre-schoolers to get to know. The show will once again be set in Scotland, combining its original location of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull with new locations including Rothesay.
