Canela Media takes on four Turkish dramas from ATV for US, Lat Am

NTC Medya’s Safir aired on ATV

US Hispanic AVoD platform Canela Media has acquired a package of Turkish dramas from ATV Distribution that will be available free-to-view on Canela TV in the US and Latin America.

The deal includes US rights to Safir, an NTC Medya production that aired on ATV in Turkey between September last year and February for a total of 26 episodes. It stars Özge Yağız, Burak Berkay Akgül and İlhan Şen.

For Latin America and the US, dramas The Father, Stolen Life and Foster Mother are also included in the ATV deal.

The Father is produced by Güzel Adamlar Medya and broadcast in Turkey by ATV, with lead roles for Oktay Kaynarca, Ebru Özkan Saban, Işıl Yücesoy and Pelin Akil.

The drama tells the story of a secret service assassin, played by Kaynarca, who fakes his own death and tries to return to his wife and children.

Stolen Life, meanwhile, was produced by Limon Film for ATV and released in Turkey as Kara Ekmek in 2015.

Finally, Foster Mother was broadcast in Turkey in 2018 by ATV. It is produced by Süreç Film, written by Serdar Oğuz and directed by Feride Kaytan.
