Cake, Mango TV cook up streaming deal

Mush-Mush & the Mushables recently debuted on RTS in Switzerland

Chinese SVoD platform Mango TV has picked up Pablo, a preschool series about autism, and the recently launched Mush-Mush & the Mushables from Cake in the UK.

The streamer will partner with Cake on the second season of Belfast-based producer Paper Owl’s Pablo and the first season of Mush-Mush & the Mushables, coproduced by La Cabane and Thuristar alongside Cake.

The latter show recently made its debut on RTS in Switzerland, while Pablo launched on CBeebies in the UK in 2017.

Other deals finalised by Cake sales manager Julien Farçat in Asia include one for TeamTO’s non-dialogue slapstick comedy series Mighty Mike, which was sold to Toei in Japan for broadcast on TBS.

In Indonesia, 31 compilation episodes of Angry Birds and non-dialogue series Oscar’s Oasis were acquired by distributor Red Candle for broadcast on ANTV and both seasons of Space Racers and Ready Jet Go! have been sold to DaAi TV.

Deals for new series Angry Birds Maker Space were also signed in the Philippines with GMA and Muse in Taiwan, which also acquired Oscar’s Oasis.

In Thailand, True Visions has licensed second seasons of Pablo and preschool CBeebies show Olobob Top, as well as Anima’s Netflix original Legend Quest.
