C21 celebrates 100 of the brightest and best in CEE

The second Content Warsaw has drawn to a close
CONTENT WARSAW: C21’s CEE100, which celebrates the 100 leading executives who are redefining the content business across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), today published its 100th profile article, marking the conclusion of the wide-reaching editorial initiative.
The 100th profile is of Łukasz Kłuskiewicz, Netflix’s director of film and content acquisitions in CEE. Kłuskiewicz was attending C21’s sell-out Content Warsaw this week to talk about the streamer’s content licensing and acquisitions strategy in CEE.
The first profile in the series was of Igor Draguzet, chief content officer at CEE regional broadcaster and streamer CME. Draguzet was also speaking at this year’s Content Warsaw. The exec was part of a panel discussing the international and local trends impacting the CEE content business and looking ahead to the opportunities and challenges of the next 12 months.
Other top execs honoured in the CEE100 include Pavel Stanchev, CEO of TV2 in Hungary; Aleksandra Subotić, CEO of United Media; Aleksandras Cesnavicius, CEO of Romania’s ProTV; and Jan Wykrytowicz, CEO of Go3 streamer in the Baltics.
The initiative is designed to showcase the best of CEE creativity and uncover coproduction and finance opportunities from across the local and international market, and salutes many of the leading producers across the region, including Nebojša Taraba, co-founder of Croatian producer Drugi Plan; Gabija Siurbytė, CEO of Lithuania’s Dansu Productions; Magdalena Szwedkowicz, founder of Poland’s MAG Entertainment; Martichka Bozhilova of Bulgarian prodco Agitprop; and independent Ukrainian producer Kateryna Vyshnevska.
Execs from across 19 countries in the vast CEE region are honoured for the transformative impact they are having in the region, some of them working in the most challenging of circumstances. Since launching the CEE100 initiative, C21 has expanded its coverage of the CEE region, last year launching a new channel – CEE21.com – dedicated to the CEE content business, carrying daily news, features and analysis.
“It has been an absolute privilege for me to manage the CEE100 initiative and to learn so much about this fascinating region, its many opportunities as well as challenges and its dynamic content industry. It is a hotbed of creativity and talent,” said C21’s Louise Bateman.
Content Warsaw was launched last year as a the three-day market, screenings and conference to connect the CEE’s burgeoning content business with the international market.
