Bumba gets animated

Belgian preschool live-action series Bumba the Clown is to be redeveloped into a cartoon by a New York-based animation studio.

Bumba (52×11′) will be coproduced in the US by Little Airplane Productions (Small Potatoes, The Wonder Pets) alongside Studio 100, the Belgian creators of puppet series Bumba the Clown.

As part of a redesign for an international market, the non-dialogue, animated version of Bumba will include an educational element that helps preschoolers develop problem-solving skills, according to Studio 100.
