BritBox International chief creative officer Diederick Santer to leave company

Diederick Santer, Britbox International’s chief creative officer, is leaving the streaming company.

Diederick Santer

The London-based exec, who joined BritBox International in summer 2021, resigned at the end of last year.

Santer, the former CEO of Kudos Film & Television, will remain with BritBox International until the end of February to manage and executive produce several projects he was already working on.

In the interim, BritBox International CEO Reemah Sakaan and other members of the team will step in to oversee coproductions and commissions that were previously handled by Santer.

C21 understands BritBox will look to make an external hire to replace Santer in the coming months.

His departure comes during a busy time for BritBox International, which is 50-50 owned by BBC Studios and ITV. Its roster of recently released and soon-to-launch titles includes ITV drama series Archie, about the life of English-American actor Cary Grant, starring Jason Isaacs, and ITVX coproductions The Confessions of Frannie Langton and Stonehouse.

During his time with BritBox International, Santer oversaw all aspects of programming on the service internationally, including commissioning and acquisition across all genres and for all markets outside of the UK.

Industry trade publication Broadcast was first to report the news.
