Black Mirror, The Gentlemen, Love is Blind among UK Netflix shows renewed for new seasons

Netflix has renewed a host of UK titles, including Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror, Guy Ritchie drama The Gentlemen and reality hit Love is Blind, and pledged to “double down” on its offering of films and series in South Indian languages.

Black Mirror is returning for an eighth run, The Gentlemen has been given a third outing ahead of the debut of S2 next week, and Love is Blind has been renewed for S4 as the third season concludes this week.

Being Gordon Ramsay will return for a second season, At Home With the Furys is coming back for S3, Neil Forsyth thriller Legends has been given a second season and Steven Knight period drama House of Guinness has been renewed for S2.

Other returning shows on the UK slate include Formula 1: Drive to Survive (S9), Supacell (S2) and Black Doves (S2).

Anne Mensah, VP of UK content at Netflix, said: “Our audiences loved these shows so it is such a delight to bring them back. To revisit the Guinness family, cook with the Ramsays, go undercover with the Legends and be At Home With the Furys.”

Meanwhile, Netflix is doubling down on its commitment to South Indian storytelling, promising to release an average of one new film every week across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema for the rest of the year.

The streamer said that as its South Indian catalogue grows, it is focused on going “even deeper into culturally authentic stories with distinct local flavours that remain universally relatable.”

Netflix is expanding its offering of films and series in South Indian languages, including The Game, its first Tamil original series, and Super Subbu, its first Telugu original series.
