Bill Bailey’s Korea Adventure among factual titles on DCD Rights’ Mipcom slate

Bill Bailey’s Korea Adventure

Bill Bailey’s Korea Adventure and James Martin’s Quick ‘N’ Easy are among the key titles being shopped to buyers by UK distributor DCD Rights at this year’s Mipcom.

The company on Thursday announced a slate spanning celebrity-led travel, cookery, true crime, history, auctions and wildlife.

Bill Bailey’s Korea Adventure (6×60’, Channel 4), produced by Perpetual Entertainment and Glassbox Productions for Channel 4, sees the comedian explore South Korea’s culture, food and traditions.

Also on the slate are two Blue Marlin Television-produced series: James Martin’s Quick ‘N’ Easy (10×30’, ITV), in which the chef offers simple recipes, and James Martin’s Italian Adventure (6×30’, ITV), which sees Martin explore Italian food and produce.

True crime titles include The Truth About My Murder (6×60’, BBC Wales/BBC iPlayer), produced by Yeti, in which forensic pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd examines Welsh murder cases using digital autopsy technology.

DCD is also launching seasons three to 10 of Murder by the Sea, produced by Monster Films for CBS Reality/True Crime and hosted by crime historian Dr Nell Darby and author Geoffrey Wansell.

Its history titles include Saving Blenheim Palace (3×60’, Channel 4), from Dash Pictures, following a £12m conservation project at the UNESCO World Heritage site.

Country House Auction (4×60’, Channel 4), produced by Big Mountain Productions, follows an auction held at Ireland’s Castle Durrow, while The Travelling Auctioneers returns for a sixth season (25×60’, BBC One), produced by STV Studios.

Wildbear Entertainment has two documentaries on the slate: The Geography Of War: World War II (4×60’), examining the role of geography in the Second World War, and Raised In The Wild (6×60’), following animal parents and their offspring in the natural world.

DCD Rights is led by CEO Nicky Davies Williams, who said the company’s buyers were “looking for well-produced content that will appeal to a broad range of audiences from true crime to cookery and antiquing to wildlife.”
