BBC Studios exec arrives at Euston

FremantleMedia-owned UK prodco Euston Films has appointed a BBC Studios exec to oversee its production slate.

Gordon Ronald

Gordon Ronald becomes head of production at Euston Films and will work on the company’s shows including BBC1’s Hard Sun and Channel 4’s Baghdad Central.

At BBC Studios, Ronald he was head of production for UK drama series and serials, with credits including Luther, Silent Witness, The Musketeers and War & Peace.

Euston Films MD Kate Harwood said Ronald would bring “an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge that will be invaluable to our fast-growing slate of programming.”

Euston Films was relaunched in 2014 by former BBC exec Harwood and former head of development Noemi Spanos, who is now creative director, to produce high-end drama with global reach.

The company previously produced shows including classic police series The Sweeney as part of Thames Television before being reformed. Manchester-based Euston North was launched earlier this year and is headed up by Hilary Martin, who works alongside head of development Simon Judd.
