Barcroft alum Alex Morris resurfaces as head of LADbible’s new studio

Former Barcroft Studios executive Alex Morris has resurfaced as director of LADstudios, a UK-based outfit from youth-focused social media publisher LADbible Group.

Leading a global team at LadStudios, Morris will be tasked with increasing the size of the department by 50% by the end of 2022. Its executives currently include strategy director and former Channel 4 executive Thom Gulseven, head of creative video Jody Smith, head of social media Mike Vaughan and head of original video and former Endemol Shine executive Ben Powell-Jones.

Morris will also be responsible for building the commercial and creative opportunities across the business’s original video IP, channels, show brands and branded entertainment offerings. He will report to Arian Kalantari, co-founder and chief operating officer of LADbible Group.

Prior to joining LADstudios, Morris worked at Barcroft Studios for over 13 years, starting as London editor and head of digital content before being upped to creative director.

LADstudios was launched in May and focuses on factual entertainment programming as well as documentary content.

Kalantari said: “Alex brings with him years of experience and success in the digital content space. His vision for the future of LadStudios will ensure we redefine content and social consumption globally and I’m looking forward to working with him on this next, and exciting, new chapter.”
