Banijay UK-owned RDF brings in Definitely co-founders as creative directors

Kitty Walshe, the incoming MD of Banijay UK-owned RDF, has appointed a new senior team.

Rachel Arnold

Rachel Arnold and Jon Green, co-founders and creative directors of RDF’s Banijay UK stablemate label Definitely, will take over creative leadership of RDF, and its labels Fizz and Little Wonder, in January.

The two execs have been appointed creative director and creative director of development, respectively. Little Wonder will continue to be led by creative director Claire Morrison.

Definitely, which focuses on non-scripted, will move to sit within RDF, with Green additionally retaining his role as creative director at Definitely to oversee upcoming commissions. These include Gemma Collins: Self Harm & Me for Channel 4, the Million Pound … franchise series for Channel 5 and four as-yet-unannounced series commissions for 2022.

Jon Green

Arnold, reporting to newly appointed RDF and Remarkable Factual MD Walshe, and working with direct report Green, will be responsible for the creative strategy of RDF and for developing a pipeline of non-scripted shows for both linear and global platforms.

The appointments follow Neale Simpson’s resignation earlier in November. As creative director of Fizz, RDF’s entertainment label, Simpson has been responsible for shows including Lightning and The Crystal Maze.

Walshe was announced as joint MD for RDF and Remarkable Factual following Jim Allen’s decision to step down as MD of RDF in September after over a decade at the helm.

Walshe said: “Rachel and Jon are a brilliant creative partnership as their huge success at Definitely shows. I am so thrilled to have them and their irrepressible creative energy with me for the next chapter of RDF.”
