Australia’s WTFN partners with US firm Spiegelworld to visit Circus Town

The deal comes after Spiegelworld bought the town of Nipton

Australian producer WTFN has partnered with US-based modern circus entertainment company Spiegelworld to develop a TV series and a weekly digital series for social media, both called Circus Town.

The content deal was prompted by Spiegelworld’s acquisition of an entire town, called Nipton, in America’s Mojave Desert in January.

Spiegelworld group has since transformed Nipton a real-life circus town, becoming a base for the company’s operations and also the creative HQ for its artists and performers.

Under the deal, brokered by Radar MCN, the Circus Town weekly longform digital series for YouTube and Facebook will launch this week, while WTFN Entertainment has begun production on a six-part observational documentary TV series, due for delivery at the end of this year.

WTFN distribution arm Fred Media is currently exploring pre-sale opportunities for the TV series and will officially launch Circus Town to the international market at Cannes event Mipcom in October.

Spiegelworld, founded by Ross Mollison, runs three long-running circus shows and an integrated restaurant business in Las Vegas in addition to recently launching a new show and restaurant in Atlantic City.
