Aurora Studios appoints Teea Hyytiä of Banijay Group’s Jarowski Finland as CEO

Finland’s Aurora Studios Group has appointed Teea Hyytiä as the new CEO. She will take up the position later this year, on November 26.

Hyytiä, who is replacing Essi Kivitie, has experience in the film and television sector starting at the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE and MTV in the early 1990s.

For the past 22 years, Hyytiä has been managing Jarowski Finland, a member of the international Banijay Group, which has produced entertainment programmes, drama series and films under Zodiak Finland. Hyytiä has served as executive producer for dozens of drama series and films, many of which have reached an international audience.

“I’m very happy to have an experienced film and television professional like Teea to lead the growth and internationalisation of Aurora Studios,” said Ari Tolppanen, Aurora’s chairman.

Aleksi Bardy is responsible for Aurora Studios Group’s own productions, and Niki Leskinen is responsible for coproductions and the FIFF fund. Joni Ihantola is chief financial officer, Hanna Lajunen is head of distribution, and Essi Kivitie is COO.

Aurora Studios, whose subsidiaries are Helsinki-filmi Oy and Cinemanse Oy, is a growing and increasingly international production company, co-producer and distributor of films and drama series.
