Ant and Dec hang out in the digital realm with new podcast series, YouTube channel

Hanging Out with Ant & Dec will launch on January 22

UK-based TV presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have announced the launch of their first podcast series, Hanging Out with Ant & Dec.

Produced by the duo’s prodco Mitre Studios, it will be streamed on new YouTube channel Belta Box. The digital entertainment brand will be home to new formats and classic clips from many of Ant and Dec’s best-loved shows such as Byker Grove and Saturday Night Takeaway.

Hanging Out… sees the lifelong friends and colleagues catch up, chat and reminisce with no script or agenda, with interaction from viewers and listeners.

The project comes about after Mitre struck a multi-series deal with Platform Media, which will lead marketing, distribution and commercial strategy for the podcast.

Launching on Thursday, January 22, episodes of the podcast will be published on Belta Box bi-weekly, with a bonus episode landing every Monday.

Ed Sleeman, MD of Mitre Studios, said: “Launching Belta Box represents a natural and exciting evolution for Mitre Studios. The brand gives us the freedom to create digital-first content across multiple platforms. Entering the podcast space for the first time is a significant and energising moment for the company.”

Josh Adley, CEO of Platform Media, said: “Ant and Dec have been asked to do a podcast more times each year than probably any other talent in the UK. I could not be more proud that with their production company, Mitre Studios, they have chosen Platform Media as the podcast partner.

“This collaboration will see us collectively launch an ambitious slate of shows, starting with Ant and Dec themselves. Each show will leverage Platform’s unique Amplification Network to reach audiences with a level of scale and targeting that is unrivalled.”
