Daisy Jones & The Six, which will also be produced by Circle of Confusion, is based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name. It will be available on Amazon Prime Video around the world.

Writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber (The Disaster Artist, 500 days of Summer) are working on the script for the 13-episode limited series, which centres on a fictional LA-based rock band in the 1970s.

Daisy Jones & The Six will be executive produced by Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, with Brad Mendelsohn exec producing for Circle of Confusion.

Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said: “When I heard Hello Sunshine was developing Daisy Jones & The Six, I tracked down a copy right away and devoured it in one sitting. I loved it so much I had to take it off the market and bring it to Amazon Studios.”

Witherspoon has been in high demand of late. The Legally Blonde star has three projects in the works with Amazon’s rival streamer Apple, including a two-season order for a drama about a morning TV news show that also has Jennifer Anniston on board, and fellow novel adaptation Are You Sleeping?.
