Amazon Studios has linked up with The Walking Dead producer Circle of Confusion and ITV Studios America’s joint venture to develop a drama based on a graphic novel.

Sci-fi thriller Thirteen is based on Six, published by Image Comics, and follows a cold-blooded alien agent who comes to Earth to track down and bring back 12 alien defectors, but begins to feel human emotion.

The one-hour drama will be co-developed by JV Circle of Confusion Television Studios, which was formed in 2017, as lead producer and Amazon Studios.

The project will be written and executive produced by Stefan Jaworksi (Those Who Kill). Michael Dinner (Justified) will executive produce and is attached to direct.

Mike Oeming and Dan Berman, the authors of the graphic novel, will also serve as executive producers.

“Thirteen exemplifies the quality of character-driven genre series that we’re currently developing. Stefan’s compelling vision captivated us from the start,” said Russ Buchholz, executive VP, head of creative affairs at Circle of Confusion TV Studios.

Circle of Confusion produces series including The Walking Dead and its companion series Fear the Walking Dead. It recently received a series order from Amazon for Daisy Jones & the Six, produced with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine.
