Alphablocks rebrands as Blocks Universe, takes more shows into production

Alphablocks, the UK company behind the eponymous hit CBeebies educational show and its successful spin-off Numberblocks, is rebranding as Blocks Universe.

The move reflects the company’s expansion into a “masterbrand” that unites the various shows in its portfolio, which now also extends to Colourblocks and Wonderblocks, under one cohesive identity.

It follows a decade-and-a-half of growth, during which the company’s content has reached over 10 billion annual YouTube views and become a staple in classrooms across the UK and US.

Blocks Universe said it remains committed to its partnership with Blue Zoo Animation Studio and the BBC, with new seasons of Alphablocks, Numberblocks and Colourblocks currently in production.

“We’ve outgrown our name,” said Oli Hyatt, MD of Blocks Universe and co-founder of Blue Zoo Animation Studio, which produces the various shows in the educational franchise. “What started with one small letter has become a connected universe of learning. Blocks Universe better captures who we are today: a global leader in educational entertainment providing a joined-up learning journey for children worldwide.”
