All3 takes over 10 Years Younger indie

Expansionist superindie All3Media has acquired Maverick Television, the UK production house behind the 10 Years Younger and How to Look Good Naked lifestyle formats.

Maverick, acquired for an undisclosed sum, will continue to retain its name and operate independently.

The move is the latest in a line of acquisitions for All3Media, which recently made its first international purchase, buying German production house MME Moviement.

As revealed by C21 recently, it has also expressed an interest in purchasing Peep Show indie Objective Productions. Other indies in the All3Media group include North One, Company Pictures, Cactus, Mersey TV and Lion Television.

Maverick’s turnover is thought to be around £8m (US$15.9m). The latest deal will see All3Media overtake Endemol as a holding company, placing it after IMG Media.

The Birmingham-based production company is headed by MD Jim Sayer and creative director Alexandra Fraser.

All3Media’s chief executive Steve Morrison said: “Maverick is one of Britain’s best factual and features TV production companies. Young people in the industry want to work there as they have such a high-quality reputation and modern outlook.”

Other credits for Maverick TV include Channel 4’s Embarrassing Illnesses and Half the Dog is Mine for BBC1’s Life strand. The group, which is currently producing the fourth series of 10 Years Younger, has recently expanded into drama, with a number of new projects in development.
