Adolescence prodco Warp starts shooting UK-Greek thriller about AI for ERT

L-R: Chloe Lea, Fanny Ardant and Niamh Algar

Warp Films, producer of Netflix’s Adolescence, has begun filming a psychological thriller set in an AI-controlled, high-end luxury resort ordered by Greek public broadcaster ERT and distributed by ITV Studios.

Harmonia (fka Costa Armonia) is a coproduction between Warp Films and Athens-based producer Neda Film, in association with ITV Studios and ERT.

The six-part, predominantly English-language series began filming recently in Athens ahead of transmission in 2027.

It stars Niamh Algar (The Iris Affair) as the AI’s creator, French cinema star Fanny Ardant (The Woman Next Door) as the resort’s former owner and Chloe Lea (Dune: Prophecy) as a young member of staff with whom the AI becomes obsessed.

The series is created by Peter Carlton, Lefteris Charitos, Amanda Livanou and Hanna Jameson. Lefteris Charitos, director of Wild Bees, one of Greek television’s biggest ever successes, directs all six episodes.

Hanna Jameson, author of The Last and writer on the forthcoming Netflix series The Undertow, is lead writer, with episodes from Alki Papastathopoulos and Panayotis Christopoulos.

The executive producers are Carlton and Balm for Warp Films; Livanou and Isavella Alopoudi for Neda Film; and Charitos, Jameson and Algar.

It is co-financed by ITV Studios and ERT, with development support from the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Fund and Creative Europe Media. The project also participated in the 2023 Drama Co-Production Market Pitch Forum at MIA in Rome.
