ABS-CBN, Viu plant Flower of Evil with CJ ENM Korean drama remake

Flower of Evil centres on a detective who suspects her husband is a serial killer

Filipino commercial broadcaster ABS-CBN and South-east Asian streamer Viu are coproducing a local adaptation of South Korean drama series Flower of Evil.

Originally produced by CJ ENM-owned prodco Studio Dragon, Flower of Evil is a psychological romantic thriller about a detective chasing her husband who is a suspected serial killer. Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe play the lead roles.

The Korean original debuted on CJ ENM’s channel TVN in 2020, with Lee Joon-gi and Moon Chae-won playing the lead roles.

ABS-CBN and Viu’s Filipino remake will make its international premiere on Viu in 16 countries across Asia, the Middle East and South Africa. It will also air on the A2Z channel, Kapamilya channel and Jeepney TV in the Philippines.

Flower of Evil is the first Viu original adaptation from the Philippines, and will also be broadcast on ABS-CBN linear channels in weekend primetime.

“The partnership of ABS-CBN Entertainment and Viu in producing the Philippine adaptation is an opportunity for us to showcase excellent Filipino talent and storytelling to more audiences worldwide,” said Cory V Vidanes, chief operating officer at ABS-CBN subsidiary ABS Broadcast.
