ABC Kids preschool series Bluey travels to Italy, Greece on Rai, ERT

Bluey follows the adventures of a blue heeler dog

Public broadcasters Rai in Italy and ERT in Greece have acquired Australian animated preschool hit Bluey.

Produced by Queensland-based Ludo Studios and co-commissioned by BBC Studios and ABC Children’s for ABC Kids, Bluey will make its free-to-air debut in Italy on Rai preschool channel Rai Yoyo on December 27.

BBC Studios will also launch an Italian-language YouTube channel in January, featuring clips and bonus content from the series. The transmission dates for Bluey on ERT have yet to be confirmed.

Bluey, which follows the everyday adventures of a six-year-old blue heeler dog, recently launched on free-to-air TV in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden and France.

In the UK, it airs on BBC preschool channel CBeebies, while Disney also has the rights to the series in all territories outside Australia, New Zealand and Greater China.

Bluey is also available on YouTube in French, Spanish, Danish and English.
