Aardman bounds off with Brave Bunnies

Aardman is seeking partners for Brave Bunnies

UK animation studio Aardman has acquired distribution rights to a new preschool property coproduced by Ukraine-based Glowberry and Spanish studio Anima Kitchent.

The Shaun the Sheep studio will represent Brave Bunnies (52×7′), which was created by Olga Cherepanova and follows a family of courageous and curious rabbits as they seek adventure and exploration, travelling on their bunny bus.

The deal was brokered by Big Picture Licensing, while toyco Spin Master is on board as a licensee. Aardman is now is seeking strategic partnerships with broadcasters, digital platforms, distributors, consumer product licensees and licensing agents.

The series, directed by Tim Fehrenbach, is due to launch in spring 2021.

Alison Taylor, head of sales and acquisitions at Aardman, said: “Brave Bunnies looks like nothing else on our slate, and when Glowberry first pitched it to us at Mipcom we could instantly see the series appealing to audiences all over the world.”
