Discovery Family takes 41 toons

Pac-Man & the Ghostly Adventures

Discovery Family in the US has acquired pay TV rights to multiple properties from producer/distributor 41 Entertainment, including Netflix original Super Monsters.

Discovery Family Channel and Spanish-language network Discovery Familia in the US have picked up action comedy Pac-Man & the Ghostly Adventures and preschool comedy Super Monsters.

The latter is the first children’s series around which global streamer Netflix has launched its own consumer products. It follows preschool-aged monsters who have descended from famous historical characters.

The two networks will also air the specials Santa Pac’s Merry Berry Day and Pac’s Scary Halloween, as well as three full-length films based on well-known IP: Kong – King of the Apes: The Adventure Begins, Tarzan & Jane: Genesis and Tarzan & Jane: Tale of Two Jungles.

Meanwhile, beginning in 2020, Discovery Family Channel and Discovery Familia will air two of 41 Entertainment’s new preschool action adventure series that are currently in production, Superhero Summer Camp and Superhero Pets.

Rachel J Falleroni, director of programming for Discovery Family Channel, said the series would air in its daytime schedule and would be available via its TV everywhere app.
