Craig Cegielski, co-CEO of FremantleMedia North America (FMNA), is leaving the company following a restructure.

Jennifer Mullin, who has been co-CEO of FMNA alongside Cegielski for the past two years, will assume full responsibility for the company. FMNA is behind shows such as talent shows America’s Got Talent and American Idol, and drama American Gods.

Cegielski will remain an executive producer on the latter, which was recommissioned by Starz last week after making its debut on the cablenet last month.

Mullin, meanwhile, will remain on the FremantleMedia operating board, reporting to group CEO Cécile Frot-Coutaz. Mullin will be announcing further appointments to her team in the coming weeks, FMNA said.

FMNA added Cegielski is stepping away from the role as to focus on relaunching Open Circle Entertainment, which he set up in 2013 prior to joining FMNA.

“I have enjoyed working alongside Craig for the last two years. He has done an amazing job shepherding American Gods to screen and building a dynamic scripted department,” said Mullin, CEO of FMNA.

“Taking American Gods from a beloved novel to ground-breaking series has been extremely gratifying. The whole experience has reignited my passion for producing bespoke scripted content,” added Cegielski.
