Bardel toon trio breaks into US

Los Angeles distributor B Wooding Media has sold a trio of animated features into the US on behalf of Vancouver production company Bardel Entertainment.

Dragons: Fire and Ice (1×72′), Dragons: The Metal Age (1×72′) and Silverwing: The Movie Trilogy (3×72′) have all gone to Toon Disney US for a fall 2005 debut on its 19.00 Jetix block.

The two Dragon shows, produced by Bardel in association with Megabloks, is inspired by the Megabloks toy line and follows the warring kingdoms of Draigar and Norvagen. The series will be supported by cross-promotional retail efforts this fall, with Megabloks and home entertainment partner Lions Gate Entertainment.

Silverwing is produced by Bardel and is based on a series of award-winning books by Kenneth Oppel.

“We are excited to bring the Silverwing and Dragon movies to Toon Disney. These high-energy films are certain to capture the imaginations of our viewers and deliver them to fantastical worlds where anything is possible,” said Tracy McAndrew, director of Jetix original series development and acquisitions.
