Rupert looks after all aspects of the company’s commercial business, working closely with COO Sara Geater to develop TalkbackThames’s strategy for new media platforms and acting as the main point of contact with Fremantle to drive secondary revenues across major programme brands. A member of the TalkbackThames management board since 2003, he also runs the company’s DVD business and line-manages the Stephen Street studios.
Rupert originally joined the company as legal and business affairs executive for Pearson Television in 1996. He went on to become head of legal and business affairs for Thames Television in 2000 and was appointed director of legal and business affairs shortly after Talkback and Thames merged in 2003. Triona is a director and founder of the audiovisual company CR Entertainment and Be Entertainment UK. She is currently producing Aisling’s Dairy for RTE, Flatmates for Sony Pictures Television and Sofia’s Diary for Sony Pictures Television and Bebo.com. Sofia’s Diary hit the headlines earlier this year when it became the first UK online series to cross to TV, when it was sold to Channel 5.
Triona is also the first producer outside North America to win the prestigious Tribeca First Look Award for the children’s feature film The Crooked Mile. Danny has been Controller, BBC Three since May 2007. In this time he has revamped the channel with a raft of new programmes alongside a brand new look and a huge step forward in multi-platform.

Michael helped found one of the pioneers in online video, AtomFilms, where he served as AtomShockwave’s president of international operations across Europe and Asia. Over a three year period, Michael helped build a business with revenue of $25m which included two global websites with over 15 million unique users a month and a library of over 3000 of the world’s best short films and games. AtomShockwave was sold to Viacom for $200m in 2006.

Jon Gisby | Director of new media and technology | Channel 4

Jon was appointed to the role of director of new media and technology in November 2007. He has been tasked with expanding Channel 4’s presence in online digital media and growing revenue from this source. Channel 4 is in the process of upgrading Channel4.com to significantly increase the amount of video content available to users.
He will also be responsible for overseeing Channel 4’s new £50m public service digital media fund, Four Innovation for the Public (4IP), which will be launching with a range of partners later this year. He also sits on the board of Project Kangaroo, the BBC Worldwide, ITV and Channel 4 commercial joint venture to launch an on-demand content service.

Geoffrey Goodwin was appointed in September 2007 as Head of BBC Switch. Geoffrey’s responsibility is to deliver a portfolio of high-quality multi-platform content to younger British Teenagers, aged 12 – 17. BBC Switch has slots on BBC TWO, Radio 1 and includes impact events and concerts.

Prior to joining Endemol, Pasa worked as interactive producer and cameraman for Flextech Television. There he set up groundbreaking live streaming and interactive website content for Flextech’s teenage channel, Trouble. He streamed a live webcast from a remote location in the Scottish Highlands via Microwave for 30 continuous days. The exclusive web content fed the editorial for a late-night show which continued for a further three series, under Pasa’s guidance.

Simon is responsible for BBC Vision’s multiplatform strategy – allocating budgets, commissioning content and both linear and multiplatform scheduling, and overseeing technical production. He sits on the boards of both BBC Vision and BBC Future Media and Technology. His team is at the heart of the BBC’s multiplatform approach to scheduling and windowing, extracting maximum value from creative programme ideas and developing digital services.
Simon was previously controller, radio and music interactive. Responsible for the creation of the BBC Radio Player and the first UK radio podcasts, his team built radio and music brands and content across digital platforms and devices. She has worked with many of the biggest fmcg brands to integrate their campaigns into iVillage.co.uk’s award winning editorial content as well as collaborating with Diva TV to run the site’s first TV sponsorship campaign. Lulu recently set up a major deal with Fremantle Media, for a new online docudrama series, Parentshood, launching in January 2008.
Lulu has eight years of experience in the digital market. Prior to joining iVillage.co.uk in 2007, Lulu was at Sympatico/MSN in Toronto, Canada where she was content integration manager, responsible for planning and developing channel sponsorship opportunities for lifestyle, health and fitness, travel and real estate channels, working with well known global brands.

Anthony joined the BBC in September 2007 as head of digital media technology within the corporation’s Future Media & Technology department. Anthony heads the BBC’s iPlayer project, and is responsible for delivering the next generation of the BBC iPlayer, as well as realising BBC Future Media & Technology’s plans to create a unified embedded media experience across its online properties.
Anthony joined the BBC from Kazaa/Altnet, where he was chief technology officer, responsible for its end-to-end services. During his six years with the organisation, Anthony gained credit for his work on a host of impressive projects and patents, including P2P networks, DRM-based content publishing and social networking services. Prior to joining Kazaa/Altnet Anthony was VP for technology at Sega Australia New Developments.
Guy Ruddle | Editor | Telegraph TV

Guy is responsible for all of the Telegraph Media Group’s rapidly expanding audio and video on demand content. He joined the Telegraph at the beginning of 2006 when he became what is believed to be the first podcast editor of a major newspaper anywhere in the world.
In the last year he has masterminded the introduction of the first rolling news video bulletin produced by a national newspaper and the launch of a stable of 10 weekly or daily programmes on subjects ranging from personal finance to travel and fashion to motoring.
Since its launch in August 2007 Telegraph TV’s user initiated play rate has risen from zero to well over 2 million a month.
He claims the highlight of his time so far at the Telegraph was persuading Rory Bremner to deliver Gordon Brown’s ‘real’ last budget speech for Telegraph TV.
Until October 2005 Guy presented the award winning Radio 5 Live business show Wake up to Money. In that role he won a Wincott award for radio programme of the year and the show was also the Plain English Campaign’s radio programme of the year in 2003.

Marla is responsible for creating and maintaining standard licensing approaches for the broadcast and online markets, with a particular emphasis on analysing new, digital business models.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Marla worked for the Financial Times in New York City as director for business development for FT.com – US. She led efforts to form strategic partnerships to drive online revenue and support the growth of the FT brand in the States.
Before working in the media sector, Marla worked for a number of years in London and New York City as a banker at National Westminster Bank and JPMorgan in a variety of structured finance roles providing service to the utilities and media/technology sectors.
Claire Tavernier | Senior Executive Vice President | FMX, FremantleMedia

Claire manages FremantleMedia’s central new media division FMX. FMX is a development and production unit for new media projects as well as holding a genre responsibility across all new media activities in the group. Some of FMX’s recently announced projects include a collaboration with iVillage on an online drama called Parentshood and an online music community site called URFantastic. FMX works with all major new media players around the world.
Since joining FremantleMedia in November 2001, Claire has been involved in a number of high profile new media projects, most notably the interactive activities for various versions of the Idols programmes around the world. These have included highly successful websites in a number of countries and ground breaking mobile products including the first ever SMS vote on American television for American Idol 2. Claire also oversaw the deployment of some of FremantleMedia’s most famous game show brands such as The Price Is Right and Family Feud on a number of interactive platforms.

Alice Taylor started in new media in 1995, from early days developing and launching Channel 4’s first ever website in early 1996 to more recently, vice president of Digital Media for BBC Worldwide in Los Angeles. In September 2007 Alice took up the role of commissioning editor, Education at Channel 4, focusing on cross-platform educational content for 14-19 year olds.
Alice specializes in cross-media entertainment, virtual worlds and videogames. She was recently a judge for the 2007 Independent Games Festival and 2007 Edge Magazine Awards, as well as Dare to be Digital 2008. Alice founded the gamecentric blog Wonderland (www.wonderlandblog.com) and has written about gaming for sites and magazines, including BBC News, The Guardian, Paste, the New Statesman, and Kotaku. Andy Taylor qualified as a lawyer with Dibb Lupton Alsop. In March 2000 he joined new media agency Victoria Real as head of legal and commercial affairs. He became MD of the company at the end of 2000, a year in which Victoria Real was the fastest growing company in the UK and Endemol acquired a 50% stake. In May 2003, Andy Taylor moved to Channel 4 where he was MD new media, responsible for developing Channel 4’s brand on new platforms, including innovative services such as 4Docs and Channel 4’s on demand service 4OD.

Henrik Werdelin is responsible for the creative development of Joost, including both the product and the brand. Henrik joined Joost as one of its first employees in 2006 and works closely with the company’s marketing, content and creative teams.
Before joining Joost, Henrik was the vice president of product development and strategy for MTV Networks International, where he spearheaded the development of many of MTV’s award winning innovative products, including TV formats, broadband channels and mobile games. Before joining MTV Networks International, Henrik worked for the BBC as an associate producer and for MTV France, GameOne and MTV Games Europe, where he was responsible for content and creative strategy.
Henrik also founded new media agency tripledash, which created digital strategies and products for major blue chip clients, such as BBC Worldwide, Coca-Cola and Walt Disney Television.
