Singing competition The Greatest Duo heads to Germany with BriskPace Unlimited

The Greatest Duo follows singers working to become musical partnerships

German unscripted and formats outfit BriskPace Unlimited is to develop a local-language adaptation of Turkish competition format The Greatest Duo.

The deal was announced by Turkish distributor Global Agency, which is licensing the format following its global launch to buyers at Mipcom last month.

BriskPace Studios-owned BriskPace Unlimited will produce the German adaptation with Sebastian Wimmer, who has produced local versions of travelling formats such as Love Island, Dancing with the Stars and Idols.

The Greatest Duo sees singers work to prove they belong together. Duos face individual scoring, rising stages, emotional reunions and life-changing partner choices as they compete to become a promising musical partnership.

It is the first format to be developed by BriskPace Unlimited, the label launched by former Vuelta Germany CEO Al Munteanu in 2025. No commissioning broadcaster or streamer has been announced at this stage.

The deal comes after Endemol acquired the rights to adapt The Greatest Duo for Italian audiences.

Izzet Pinto, founder and CEO of Global Agency, said: “Al Munteanu and BriskPace know exactly what German audiences want, and with Sebastian alongside them The Greatest Duo could not be in better hands.”

Munteanu said: “This is exactly what Unlimited is for. We will make the big shiny-floor show. We take a 360-degree view and will invite audiences to experience the drama, the music and the beef on all platforms. We cannot wait to get started.”
