Global buyers chase down Wild Battlegrounds as Off the Fence reveals factual slate

Wild Battlegrounds looks at the places where animals battle for survival

Italy’s Mediaset, independent Central and Eastern Europe-focused pay TV broadcaster Viasat World and Discovery in Latin America have all acquired natural history series Wild Battlegrounds.

The 8×60’ series, produced by Australian factual outfit Wildbear Entertainment for RTL Germany, focuses on the natural battlegrounds where wild animals clash in their struggle for survival.

The deals were announced by Off the Fence Media, which has bolstered its catalogue with a slate of new projects.

Growing Up Cat (2×60’, Wild Earth TV) follows lion, leopard and cheetah cubs from the safety of the den through adolescence to independence, while Muskox: Survival in the Arctic (1×60’, Stay Wild Studio) offers a portrait of musk oxen living on the remote Arctic tundra.

Mind of a Predator (7×60’, Lion Mountain Media) asks what really happens inside the minds of animals when they hunt. It’s part of a wider deal with Lion Mountain that also includes Secret Ways of Wild Dogs (1×60’) and 29 hours of library programming.

The slate is rounded out by The Insect Effect (working title, CZAR Films), and several shows from UK factual producer One Tribe TV, including Nature’s Odysseys (3×60’) and Wild Offspring: Animal Families (3×60’).
