Calinos unveils Turkish daily drama Violet, Disney+ titles

Violet is set to debut in Turkey next month

MIPCOM: Istanbul-based Calinos Entertainment has added Turkish daily drama Violet, produced by Limon Yapım, to its international distribution slate, having launched it to buyers at a beachside cocktail event at Mipcom last night.

The series is due to premiere on Show TV in Turkey in November. Violet stars Güz Bozkurt (Winds of Love, Envy) in the title role, opposite Batuhan Demir. Fulya Yavuzoğlu and Ecem Tahtalıoğlu Pertez direct, while Baran Gündoğdu, Merve Balıkçı and Vural Balıkçı are the writers.

The story follows a girl and her younger siblings who lose their mother during a train journey.

Aslı Serim, head of content at Calinos Entertainment, said: “Daily dramas continue to attract great interest, and we believe Violet has great potential.”

The move comes after Calinos launched three other new titles earlier in the week, two of which originally streamed on Disney+ in Turkey. Between the World & Us is produced by MF Yapım and Runaway is produced by Same Film and O3 Medya. Also on the slate, The Choice is produced by OGM Pictures and aired on Star TV in Turkey.

Serim added: “These three titles bring very different stories to our catalogue, each with strong production values, compelling storytelling and internationally recognised talent.”
