Knowledge Network acquires biographical drama Rocket Boys from India’s One Life

Raaya: The Great Indian Tales is being launched at Mipcom this week

MIPCOM: Knowledge Network in Canada has acquired two seasons of biographical drama series Rocket Boys from India’s One Life Studios.

Licensed from Sony, Rocket Boys (8×60’) dramatises the lives and friendship of Dr Homi J Bhabha and Dr Vikram Sarabhai, two pioneering Indian scientists whose work helped shape the country’s nuclear and space programmes.

The deal with Knowledge Network is under a non-exclusive term of four years and five months.

The news comes as One Life celebrates 10 years of business at Mipcom this week, where it is also launching animated kids’ series Raaya: The Great Indian Tales.

The series centres on a nine-year-old Indian girl on a mission to question everything – from the symbols of Indian history and religion to nature and the universe at large.

She is helped in her quest by her Uncle Al, a narrator keeping the Indian tradition of passing stories from one generation to the next, as well as her AI bot who can provide her with instant knowledge. Raaya must decipher the answers from the two, thinking carefully on how to uncover the true meaning of each query.
