Aussie streamer Stan takes the plunge with reboot of lifeguard drama Baywatch

Australian streamer Stan has picked up three premium scripted titles, including the new reboot of classic 90s lifeguard drama Baywatch.

The 12-part series is coproduced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle for US network Fox. It stars Stephen Amell in the lead role of Hobie Buchannon, as he and his colleagues don red swimwear to patrol the beaches of LA, saving lives and fighting crime.

Stan has also acquired love story You Are Here (8×30’, Element Pictures for the BBC and Starz), an adaptation of David Nicholls’ novel of the same name; and The Only Suspect (4×60’, Red Planet Pictures), starring Kevin McKidd in a story about a devoted couple whose picture-perfect life hides a devastating truth.

The deal was announced by distributor Fremantle, which licenses all three titles.
