Turkish drama Fatmagül acquired by Netflix for Latin America

Netflix has acquired hit Turkish drama series Fatmagül for Latin America.

Produced by Ay Yapım and originally broadcast on Kanal D in Turkey from 2010 to 2012, Fatmagül has been licensed in more than 150 countries and is one of the series that has helped put Turkish drama on the global stage.

It tells the story of a woman who is sexually assaulted and is then forced to marry one of her attackers.

The series will launch on Netflix in Latin America in Spanish, and in Portuguese in Brazil, next week. It is distributed internationally by Kanal D International, which also holds the format adaptation rights.
