Animated series SMASH!

Discovery Kids Latin America, Discovery TV Frisbee in Italy and Mango TV in China have picked up the exclusive rights to SMASH!, the forthcoming animated series from Connecticut-headquartered 41 Entertainment.

The 52×11’ series, scheduled to launch in autumn 2022 and spring 2023, has also been licensed to Knowledge Network in Canada, HOP! in Israel, Sanoma Media/Nelonen Media in Finland, TV2 in Hungary, MBC in the Middle East and HKTVE in Hong Kong.

Under previously announced deals SMASH! was acquired by HBO Max in the US and Super RTL for Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. Pay TV networks Discovery Family and Discovery Familia also picked up linear rights in the US.

Created by Allen Bohbot and based on an original idea by Kaaren Lee Brown, the series is set on a camp in Bavaria, Germany, where kids with superpowers prepare to become the next generation of superheroes with their super-powered pets. It features characters from Guangzhou in China, Cape Town in South Africa, St Petersburg in Russia, Glasgow in Scotland and São Paulo in Brazil.

41 Entertainment’s other credits include Super Monsters and Tarzan and Jane, both for Netflix, and Supernatural Academy for Peacock.
