Reveille names new president

The producer behind a string of hit reality shows including Celebrity Apprentice has been named president of Shine Group’s US prodco Reveille .

Eden Gaha will take over the Los Angeles-based television and film production company in June, following the departure of MD Howard Owens.

Gaha has been behind Celebrity Apprentice since 2006, and also has credits as supervising producer on Survivor in 2003, and then as co-executive producer of The Contender, Pirate Master and Rock Star.

In his new position with the Shine Group-owned company, the native Australian will lead Reveille’s unscripted, creative, development, digital and brand integration departments.

Gaha will replace Owens, who announced in April he would leave Reveille in June after nine years.

Owens was the first employee hired by Reveille when it was launched by Ben Silverman in 2002, and one of three people brought on board from the William Morris Agency.

When Shine took over Reveille in 2008, Owens and Mark Koops became co-managing partners of the company. Then, last September, Owens became the sole MD.

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation completed its acquisition of his daughter Elisabeth’s Shine Group in April this year.

Owens reportedly plans to spend more time with his family but is set to continue consulting for Reveille throughout the rest of the year. Reveille currently produces The Biggest Loser, MasterChef, The Office, Ugly Betty and The Tudors in the US.

Gaha’s appointment to Reveille is the latest in a string of recent hires at the company, including Heather Schuster as senior VP of creative affairs and Matt O’Brien as VP of creative affairs.

David Anderson left Fox Audience Network to become head of digital and David Benavente was promoted to senior VP of production finance and administration.
