50 Cent’s Power spreads to Germany

A German TV channel has acquired the rights to Power, the crime drama series produced by rapper Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson for US cablenet Starz.

Power was created for Starz in the US

Sony Pictures Television-owned AXN Germany will air the series, which follows a wealthy nightclub owner who caters to New York City’s elite while leading a double life in the city’s drugs trade.

Jackson performs the title song to the series and also appears in a supporting role. The series was renewed for a second season by Starz last year.

The show will begin airing in Germany on July 20, while each episode will be available on VoD platforms such as Select Video by Kabel Deutschland, as well as on SkyGo and SkyAnytime, after broadcast.

It comes after a separate deal was made between AXN and Starz Worldwide Distirbution for the CBS Television Studios-produced series in Italy earlier this month.
